A Modern
Romance is a 100-page handwritten and
illustrated journal that began as the manuscript
of the memoir of the same title that later
appeared in Larry Flynt's Chic magazine,
and now, richly expanded, forms a major section
of MAD LAUGHTER.
About a
third way through, I finished the piece on the
typewriter and the book veered off into mad
laughter and fine penmanship. Containing the
original text of "Wildwood Forested
Lakes" and "The Last Dream," it's
a very accomplished and beautiful work I know
you'll cherish.
